I don’t really intend on being mr. obituary man, but I feel the need to note that we lost two ladies of horror recently. Suzanne Pleshette was famous and Maila Nurmi (you know her as Vampira) was more infamous. While she could be seen on reruns almost every night (somwhere, I’m sure) on the Bob Newhart Show, it’s her performance in Alfred Hitchcocks’s, The Birds, that will forever peck away at our brains.

Now as talented as Pleshette was, Malia Nurmi is spooky, and that’s so much cooler! How iconic is she? Who knew how influential she would be? From Elvira to all those goth girls, Ed Wood really knew what he was doing.
