THE SUBGENRE WANDERER I did this mix back one afternoon at a post-action sound session session. It’s jazzy, it’s mellow, it’s electronic, it’s funky, a lot of things, I guess. I got the title when I was interviewing Steven Cobby from Filla Brazillia. They were playing around with various electronic subgenres and I randomly called him a subgenre wanderer. He said he wanted to use it as an album name or something, but in the meantime I felt like this mix should take the title since several of songs have been sampled by various “subgenre” acts. Once again, dig the music, and I’ll be back with the full track listing (maybe I won’t and you’ll have to try to figure em out. Bug me if you’re desperate); but listen for tracks by Gil Scott Heron, Marvin Gaye, Funkadelic, Quincy Jones, the Rollerball soundtrack, Steve Hillage, and a bunch more.
