blondie.jpgI’ve been in “Rapture” with Debbie “Blondie” Harry ever since I was a little boy, and that fascination will never cease, even if I wasn’t crazy about her set at the Greek Theatre, as part of the True Colors tour last spring. Ms. “Heart of Glass” insisted on selling her new album, Necessary Evil, and while she played some older solo material (”Rush Rush” snnnnnnffff, boogie, boogie, YES!), there was no Blondie in her Harry. I’m told that when she plays Henry Fonda’s Music Box this Friday she’ll deliver some classics - which, with all due respect to some decent new material, is a relief. But never forget, this former Playboy Club/Max’s Kansas City waitress is the original Queen of Cool, and as much as Gwen Stefani plays with hip-pop and Gucci, Debbie told us about Grandmaster Flash, was the muse for (pre-Target) Stephen Sprouse, and hung out at the Warhol Factory. That should put things in perspective.

Opening up for the “Atomic” punk is Kristoffer Ragnstam, apparently Sweden’s answer to Beck. Here’s a link to  his MYSPACE page. I will be attending this one, so I’ll be sure to give you a review of the show, but in the meantime, CLICK HERE FOR TIX AND VENUE INFO
